Frankfurt Airport is the busiest airport in Germany and the fourth busiest in Europe.
It is composed by a couple of passenger terminals:

Terminal 1

Frankfurt Airport Terminal 1 is the oldest and largest terminal. Primarily used by Lufthansa, it hosts both international and domestic flights.

Terminal 2

Frankfurt Airport Terminal 1 Frankfurt Airport Terminal 2 is for oneworld and SkyTeam airlines, plus some unaffiliated airlines. Terminal 2 has concourses D and E. It is even more depressing than Terminal 1. There is a shopping plaza on level 2 of Terminal 2, which has quite a few stores, but it's pretty tired. The hotel is within walking distance to Terminal 1 by sky walk, connected to the ICE mainline station with over 185 daily high-speed rail links across Europe, direct access to the A3 and A5 freeway. Only 15 minutes away from downtown Frankfurt and the trade fair grounds. The cheapest way to get from Frankfurt Central Station to Terminal 1 costs only 34€, and the quickest way takes just 3¾ hours. Lufthansa First Class Terminal

This is an exclusive terminal for first class passengers of Lufthansa. It is located close to Terminal 1 and only first class passengers of both Lufthansa and HON Circle are allowed to access.

It is equipped with individualised security screening and other facilities such as valet parking, lounge, office, exclusive restaurant, smoking room and bubble baths.

Passengers are transferred to their flight by a luxury car.

Present & Future

The third terminal is under construction. It is expected to be completely operative by 2023 and able to handle 25 million passengers per year.

Transfer between terminals

Terminal 1 and Terminal 2 are adjacent each other and connected through a couple of means of transportation:

Skyline monorail

Skyline is free of use and departs every 2-3 minutes from both public and transit area.

Shuttle buses

Free shuttle buses depart every 10 minutes from 05:30 tu 23:30.

TERMINALS

Transfer

Terminal 1: this is the bigger, older and busier of the two terminals. Annually it handles about 50 million passengers and has 103 gates with 4 concourses, labelled A, B, C and Z. And it hosts mainly Lufthansa and many other local and international flights. This terminal is split into five levels;

First level; the arrivals, where you can find shuttle buses, bus terminal, car rental desks, taxis, baggage claim and check-in facilities.

Second level; the departure, which is connected to C, D and E gates of terminal 2.

Third level; this is where you find the information counter, security check, amenities and various services.

Fourth level; this is where you go to refresh yourself with several food plazas and exciting activities to engage in.

Underground level; here you find the regional railway station.

Terminal 2: it has only two levels, the ground level and level 1. Different levels give access to different gates. This terminal houses several airlines including, Air Berlin, American Airlines, British Airways, S7 Airlines, Delta Air Lines, China Airlines, Japan Airlines, Air France and many others. There are also services like car rentals, lounges etc.
